What happened to DryOasis.com?
Alas, DryOasis is no more. I have completely erased that site with By: Laura King.
So what about your Photoshop brushes?
Will we ever see them again?
Highly unlikely. I haven't made brushes in years, and as of now, don't expect to be making them again any time soon. I was never a fantastic brush maker, and my real love is in my writing, so I'd rather spend my time doing that.
Wait, I don't know what DryOasis is, I was looking for something completely different!
Well, that's not a question. But, I know what you mean, so I'll try to help you out anyway. It's true that I used my web space at DryOasis for many reasons, including hosting images for some LiveJournal pages and communities that I am/was apart of. Most likely what happened is that the file you're looking for has been condensed into a different folder and is, for all intents and purposes, lost forever. To you, at least. If you really want to find whatever it is you're looking for, feel free to contact me.
So... you're publishing a bunch of your stuff here...
What exactly is The Atlas about, anyway?
Well, you can head over to that page and read the summary for yourself. But, in short, it's about people living in a post apocalyptic world in which a mutated virus (it's assumed to be a virus, nobody really knows what it is) has killed off all life except for people on the ocean. The Atlas, the largest cruise ship in the world, launched just days before the outbreak began, and finds itself afloat and alone with roughly 5,000 civilian passengers.
Why are you publishing The Atlas here, and not sending it to an agent?
Multiple reasons, really, the main of which is the fact that it's still a work in progress that, as I imagine it, is never really going to be finished. Not in the sense of "Book One," "Book Two," "Book Three," anyway. The second reason is because I have other novels that I consider much more my style, and have wanted to see on a shelf in hard copy for much longer than The Atlas has been around. Not that I love The Atlas any less, it's just not number one on my list to spend 2+ years trying to get published.
When are new chapters of The Atlas posted?
Currently, the posting schedule for new chapters is the first Saturday of every month. They may be increased to bi-weekly updates, but I'm not sure when that will happen.
Is there any way to be notified when a new chapter is up?
Yes! There is! Just subscribe and you will be sent an email every time a new chatper of The Atlas is published.
